Yesterday, I ran my longest distance in quite some time. 7 miles around Hulbert. I figured since I finally signed up for the Pensacola Half Marathon, I needed to get busy with my training. My husband, who was at home visiting family, guilted me into running. I was so tired, but decided I would try a run anyway. Right before I left, I ate about a half of a package of Jelly Belly Sports beans. The first mile or so, I kept checking my Garmin to check my pace. Ironically enough, I had to slow down or I knew I would never make. I didn't set out to run 7 miles at first, but I felt good and knew I needed to increase my distance. The bad thing about running, for me, is once I set my mind to a distance I either have to finish or I'm very frustrated. I don't even like taking walking breaks. So needless to say, the run was great. I probably could have ran farther if it wasn't getting dark outside. It really helped to me to clear my mind about everything going on lately.
On another note, my husband and I had our first infertility treatment last week. I have PCOS and am on Clomid and Metformin. Plus, we are doing a procedure called and ICI (intracervical insemination). Lets just say it is an interesting adventure. We have been TTC for close to 2 years now, getting interrupted by deployments and PCS'ing to Florida. It felt like hurry up and wait. So, last week was a major hurdle to cross by actually starting treatment. I have never had so many hot flashes in my life, but thankfully no mood swings. Fairly certain it isn't going to work this month, but we have to start somewhere. No use in getting upset right now. It is what it is, and we will try again.
